Liam and Hannah’s Engagement Session

A few weeks ago I met Hannah and Liam for their engagement photoshoot at Durlston Caslte, they had chosen this venue because they were going to be getting married there in a few weeks time.

When we arrived at Durlston Caslte, it looked like it was going to be a beautiful day, the sun was shining down on us as we started. After the first few shots however, a blanket of fog washed over us, this was great for me as it softened up the light falling upon Liam and Hannah and gave them such a glow.

We walked around the venue, up and down the many paths surrounding it; we found some wonderful spots along the way and stopped at each of them.

We ended our photoshoot at some picnic benches where Liam and Hannah wanted to show off more of their personality as a couple; and what better way to do that? With arm wrestling of course!

It was the perfect ending to our photoshoot!

Iqbal and Kohinoor’s Engagement

A couple of weeks ago I met Iqbal and Kohinoor for their engagement session ahead of their big day. We decided to take a walk through central London, starting off at Covent Gardens and make our way down to Bank.

Covent Gardens is always busy no matter what time of the day you visit but we got some nice shots there. However I prefer photographing somewhere quieter so we headed down towards Trafalguar square, stopping along the way whenever we saw something interesting.

Iqbal and Kohinoor wanted to stay away from the traditional touristy spots and instead were drawn to the beautiful architecture, specifically the interesting archways. I had never realised how many there are.

Iqbal and Kohinoor really wanted to showcase their personalities in the photoshoot so to help show who they are I suggested they bring some props with them. The props that really stood out on the day were their baby pictures. It was really special to see where they had started from and how far they had come in all those years.

They had brought a change of clothes with them so we headed to the Marriot to change. Once they had changed we found some more beautiful archways.

We decided to end the photoshoot just before sunset in Bank at a little place called Leadenhall Market, they really opened up towards the end of our photoshoot and I was able to capture some beautiful candid moments of the two of them just being themselves. I think its important to step away from time to time and just let them get lost in the moment.

Happy New Year!!

Okay, I know this is a little late but here we are! We have arrived in 2018!!
2017 was a wonderful year for me, I met many new faces and traveled to far away lands (I’m still working on my Jamaica blog post). I learned a great deal about myself and what I am seeking for my future.

I can’t believe we are already a week in to the new year, where has the time gone?
Is it too early to ask you how your new year’s resolutions are going? Have you accomplished any?

I hope for this new year to be a spring board, pushing us all into the good things that are to come. I hope this year brings more chances to venture to new places and meet more new faces.

However you celebrated, I hope this year will bring you hope, good health and happiness!

Pharmacy Ball (LPSA 2012)

During my second year of university at De Montfort University, I was working on a project where I was taking long exposure pictures outside at night when I bumped into Emjay, we started talking and she asked me to take a picture of her, so I snapped a couple and sent them to her.

She loved them and asked me if I wanted to photograph the Pharmacy Ball for the students; I was interested in doing more work with the organisations at the university, I jumped at the opportunity!

The event event was held in the beautiful Mercure Hotel in Leicester; looking at the building from the outside does not do it justice. As I entered through the main doors I was amazed at the beauty of it, it’s like you’ve traveled back in time to the 19th century. The interior is just something else!
As I made my way through the hotel, I climbed the staircase that led to the ballroom and as I entered the ballroom I was left breathless. It was
